Bonterra Market

This store has a lot of potential to be a great store but it’s clearly very poorly managed. The stock rotation and inventory management is horrendous, the sales are almost never accurate, and none of the employees are empowered to manage customer interactions. As a customer there is no reason I should be consistently pulling expired products from the shelves, there is no reason I should constantly have to argue sale prices or wait five minutes for management to come and override a price because it was not updated in the point of sale system, there is no reason an associate is afraid to answer a simple question definitively because they have no agency to make small customer satisfaction choices. I hope the owner of the store takes a look at management and makes some operational changes, I love to support small businesses but have had to take my business elsewhere except when absolutely necessary. I am plant based, gluten free, and organic preferred as a consumer-this should be my one stop shop. And it’s not. Not because the pricing is not competitive (it isn’t) or because the reward system is fairly non-existent (it is), I am willing to swallow all of that to support local small businesses-it is not my one stop shop because the poor management makes for a hostile and unenjoyable shopping experience. I see that many of the responses to other unfavorable reviews are quite defensive, but I hope this feedback can be received as constructive criticism and used as an anchor for escalated conversations on growth and betterment at a Management level. Hoping for improvement soon!
