I am from Boston, Bostoners take donuts really seriously.
I was diagnosed with coeliac disease 10 years ago and the one thing I always talked about how much I miss was donuts that don't taste like cake. The fried donuts Borough 22 makes are the best I have had since being diagnosed. They are even better than the GF donuts I get Boston (Kane's Donuts, also a huge shoutout to them). I live SE and have to stop myself from ordering this every week because my bank won't allow for it, but they are just so good. I love the added chewiness I imagine the rice or tapioca flour adds to them, so good. My favourite is the plain glazed but also choc sprinkles is so good.
One ask - could you try replicating New England style Apple Cider Donuts for fall?
