Would not recommend for anyone with a food allergy.
I was not the one who made the order with this restaurant, so I can't completely know what originally transpired and don't purport to do so. But we have 2 people with gluten issues, another with a dairy allergy, and yet another with an anaphylactic egg allergy. It would be highly unlikely that these allergies would not have been mentioned either as they pertain to the whole order or to individual orders.
My orders appeared to contain both gluten ( I have celiac disease) and egg (a fatal allergy of my child). I called to find out if they did contain egg, so that we didn't cause a fatal allergic reaction. I was placed on hold 4 times and then given an incredibly insensitive response about how it wasn't their fault. Saying they were only notified of, and therefore noted a dairy allergy on one meal, that they knew about the egg allergy and noted it as a dairy allergy on one plate ( egg and dairy are different allergies). That they knew about the gluten issue but only marked the one entree no dairy. I understand trying to protect the restaurant and themselves but admitting knowledge of all three allergies, but noting only one of them on one entree is a big red flag.
When I asked if my meal contained egg they said that I shouldn't eat anything we ordered. When I probed further asking what contains egg, the response was literally "just don't eat any of it" ( at least 7 entrees plus appetizers).
Based solely on my experience, on my follow up call, the manager i spoke with doesn't understand food allergies- neither what proteins/potential allergies are present in what foods, nor the gravity of what consuming an allergen can mean to some people. But based on the advice to not eat any of the food prepared, it's entirely possible this restaurant is not capable of keeping anyone with a food allergy safe either based of knowledge, or food safety protocol. They admit to having information on three separate food allergies and only noting one allergy on one ticket.
Again I can't say what happened on the original order call, but the lack of understanding of food allergies by a manager on the follow up call, and the immediate defensive reaction, and the suggestion to throw away hundreds of dollars of food, when I just wanted to know how to avoid killing my child....
As someone dealing with food allergies I think it's important to anticipate mistakes and oversights when dining out. I, therefore, feel like it's important to share this experience with anyone else with allergies considering dining at this restaurant, so that you can carefully weigh your own risk when it comes to deciding if this is a safe place for you and your family.
