Bramble & Brine at the Buttery

I must say I thought our Bramble & Brine experience would have been a little better. It was our first time visiting this restaurant and was really looking forward to a upscale dining experience. What I feel we got was a mediocre environment and a good meal. We were with a couple who are gluten free. The couple visited the restaurant a few days prior to make sure they had gluten free options. They were told the shrimp “starter” was gluten free but when it came it looked fried so they asked the waiter again if he was sure it was gluten free and was told it was however when they asked if it was cooked in a fryer with other breaded food they were told that yes it was. The couple is allergic to gluten and would have gotten sick if they ate this.Our waiter, Jonathan apologized however after that seemed annoyed with us, When we asked about dessert the waiter quickly said all desserts had flour. He did not even ask the chef, he just seemed like he couldn’t be bothered. Like I said I expected more for our $160 per couple experience.
