I’ve lived in Crystal Lake for about 5 years now, and Breaking Bread has my favorite rueben, hands-down. Meat and kraut are what you’d expect, but this place really shines with the cheese and bread. Delicious melty swiss and fluffy rye with a nice, exterior crunch. The 80s dad-rock playlist is a plus for me, and my gluten-free partner highly recommends their celiac-safe options. Crystal lake staple.

Our Reuben and Italian sub sandwiches on the gluten free bread were wonderful! Young one enjoyed the hot dog and the pickle! Sweet potato fries were great!
