Brickhouse Pizza Pasta & Taproom

Brothers and sisters of the culinary adventure society, gather around because I've got something to say. Rarely do you find a place so subversive of your expectations that it leaves you confused and content in equally extreme measure, but Brickhouse is just such a place. My wife accidentally read me the menu when I asked her to look up what I intended to be another place in another town. When the intended place had yet to open, we went with the one she'd found, Brickhouse. If you're the sort to appreciate great food and fascinating atmosphere, this place is for you. We started with the calamari, which was fantastic and seasoned exceptionally well. We had chicken parm and their City Square pizza for the main course, and that's where a really good eatery began to become something transcendent. My deep dish pizza was a study in comfort cuisine with deliciously crisped cheese around a beautifully sauced deep dish pizza. The chew was wonderfully pillowy with just the right gluten buildup to give you the sense of eating something substantive. Incredible pizza. Just absolutely beyond any expectation. I would describe the wonder of the chicken parm, but all I am able to attest to is the divinely inspired scent of the dish. For the first time in our 24-year marriage, but wife violently attacked my fork when I reached to take a bite from her plate. I can only surmise that the chicken parm is at least on par with my pizza, which I am not ashamed now to admit defending with equal zeal. All the above and one of the friendliest staffs I've had the pleasure of ordering from (shout out to the young lady who served us, Sarah). ...and if that doesn't make you get up and head that way right now... they had a guy playing the piano live for a bit. A roped off piano in the middle of the floor and a kind-looking gentleman throwing out covers of show tunes and well-known songs. I'd write more, but I've just decided to go again. So what if it's in a whole other town... It's just that dang good!

This place is amazing! The atmosphere is perfect for a date night. The pianist played beautifully and truly made the experience 10 times more enjoyable. Our waitress, Courtney, did a fantastic job and truly made us feel welcome!! The gluten free cauliflower pizza crust was delicious, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone with or without a gluten allergy because it’s that good! We will be coming back!
