Overall my rating would have been a 2 but with mold it's a 1. Should be zero. Basic food safety would have prevented that and as soon as I saw it I felt I could not longer trust the rest. They also state they offer GF pancakes and waffles but after eating some my sister was not feeling great. This tells me they cook everything on the same surfaces/pans which is cross-contaminating gluten. This should be noted in the menu or by the server. Amber seemed to be new to the server role. I get it, everyone starts somewhere. But attention to detail is everything in service. Empty glasses, missing sides, missing condiments, and being generally overwhelmed isn't a good look. She also seemed to have several more tables than the other two servers - neither of whom expressed a desire to assist until the manager/cook said something. As for the mold (I have a real penicillin allergy), no one mentioned taking anything off for it and I'm skeptical that it was brought to the kitchen's attention. Fine. We just won't be back. Not worth getting sick over. TL;DR - Pros: quaint and quiet. Bathroom was clean. Our waitress, Amber, was friendly even if a bit overwhelmed. Cons: service was severely lacking, mold on my English muffin with no compensation, no teamwork, no leadership

My brother and I went to Britney’s this morning for breakfast. As I have celiac disease, I called to verify they had gluten free offerings and was told they had pancakes, GF toast for french toast, and GF waffles. Score! (Or so I thought). We were seated right away but unfortunately that was the only thing quick about our experience. I had to double check that my pancakes were in fact GF because they didn’t taste GF — come to find out that yes, the batter was GF, but they cook everything on the same griddle. Which is why I was immediately feeling sick to my stomach. My brother ordered the Spinoccoli omelet with an english muffin; the omelet looked more like a frittata. Also my brother found 2 mold spots on his english muffin, and as he is highly allergic to mold, his entire meal was then ruined. After pointing out the mold to the waitress, we were given apologies, but that was it. Nothing was taken off the bill, or no other compensation was offered. Our waitress seemed very new, which I can absolutely understand, but also doesn’t bode well for what was becoming a busy Saturday morning for the cafe (as we were leaving more and more people were showing up). My empty water glass stayed empty a majority of the time we ate, flagging her down was incredibly difficult, and I was never provided the home fries and bacon I had ordered with my meal. Overall, I know I won’t be back, and neither will my brother.
