Enjoyed a true wet cappuccino at Ikigai, what a delight. I am very sensitive when it comes to coffee and am grateful that there were no ill affects from having this tasty treat. There seems to be a wide variety of drinks and homemade snacks available, even some gluten free. The coffee beans are from Lancaster but I didn’t ask for additional details. I chose a toasted bagel with cream cheese but there are additional varieties of each available. It seemed like my bagel was toasted in a panini from the squish, so if you don’t want a squished bagel perhaps mention that!
This modern coffee shop is below ground though accessible via stairs from the sidewalk, under a hotel and tucked beside an underground parking lot. It is clean inside with ample space for a handful of folks to meet and chat with others. You will not find huge tables here. You will find a peaceful atmosphere, even the music was low key and just the right volume, not too loud, not too soft. There are plenty of accessible electric outlets which is key for a great cafe. You will find the internet password at the bottom of your receipt, so don’t forget to ask for one!
It was a bit chilly and damp for my old bones today, but I liked having a hot coffee and warm bagel in this environment. I do see a unit on the wall so I am sure that under certain circumstances they are providing heat or ac - I did not ask for any adjustment as my visit was cut short due to personal engagement.
I will definitely return.
