I haven't had been eating out very much at all due to the pandemic, but had a taste for some wood or coal fired pizza. With several notable options in Nashville, oddly enough I opted on Brixx, a 20+ year old, NC-based pizza (yep NC) chain putting out good pies. Their fairly thin crust topped with fresh ingredients embedded with smokey, wood-fire flavor was exactly what I was looking for and just as I remembered having it 10 years ago. They also bake focaccia bread each day for their sandwiches. For those with diet restrictions the restaurant offers vegan and vegetarian options, whole- wheat crust and gluten-free menu items. And a bonus is the local, regional and national craft beers and microbrews that are on menu.
