Landlady Lili has introduced a new line of pies - loads of different options, and gluten-free versions are coming soon, I'm told. I've tried the steak and mushroom in a peppercorn sauce pie, and can thoroughly recommend. The pastry-to-filling ratio was just right for me, the pastry was nicely cooked and just the right thickness, the steak was tender and fatless, and the peppercorn sauce was subtle but noticeably peppercorn. It came with a jug of gravy which the pie itself didn't need, but which was perfect on the included vegetables and mash (or chips). The only problem was choosing which pie to have in the first place! Wonderfully chilled Friday lunchtime garden experience... great goats cheese pizza washed down with lovely draught Blue Moon. Thank you :)

Good selection of real ale and beers, food is generally good though sometimes a bit slow to come out. Kitchen can prepare Gluten free which is is a rarity in Wokingham.
