Brodburger

I have had Brod before but this one didn't hit the spot. Firstly, the wait time was insane for a quiet Friday lunch and one burger order. I would hate to go on a busy weekend and be in a hurry. Had a gluten free veg burger. Their gluten free bread was so dry - so many burger places in Canberra do gluten free bread well so this was disappointing. The thinnest driest haloumi slice drowned by oily vegetables that tasted half cooked which given the wait time seemed a bit silly. So much capsicum! The burger sauce had been poured on and was oddly spicy which must be to make up for the lack of seasoning on the cooked veges. I think I'll try the vegan burger instead next time. Their onion rings had a thick batter which was a welcome change from other burger joints. Appreciate that aioli dipping sauce didn't come at an extra cost. Staff were nice but one person in particular seemed incredibly fed up - as was I by the end of it all. Won't be going back any time soon. Interestingly never had a bad experience at the one at Capital Brewing in Fyshwick.

Great place for a decent burger and drink. Lots of good options including veggie' vegan, fish, gluten free - there's something for everyone. Good French fries with sauce and Burgers also have a small option. Either way, there's a good balance of flavour, sauce and it's not too much or too little. Just right - as Goldilocks would say. Covered outdoor seating is available with heaters nearby on days that are cooler.
