I enjoyed a very pleasant flat white. Was decaf but nonetheless excellent, as decaf is so often not.
However, I was very disappointed with the lunch. The menu was quite limited, but I ordered the crab salad, expecting a plate of salad. What I was given was the tiniest portion size, more like a starter, consisting solely of a small portion of crabmeat, plus 3/4 paper thin slices of pickled kohlrabi.
Although it was beautifully presented and tasted as crab should taste, I was anticipating more of a salad, or indeed any salad, for £13.50. So disappointed as the couple next to me had ordered bagels which looked considerably more substantial and had more of a salad with their bagels than I had! I have to say that I was offered a slice of gluten free toast to go with my “salad”, in place of croutons, but I declined as I believed the salad would be sufficient. However, had I realised how unsubstantial it was going to be, I would have accepted, even though I prefer to avoid bread. I left feeling completely unsatisfied. Unfortunately I don’t have a photo as I tend not to take photos of my food.
It was quiet at lunchtime so there was no particular atmosphere. I left quite quickly. The staff were friendly. I did mention my disappointment with my choice of food, and the girl apologised, but offered no recompense.
