Bucatino Trattoria Romana

This was our first visit to this establishment, it came very highly recommended by friends. We usually do not choose Italian since we are both gluten-free. I did not see any gluten-free options on the menu but there were other options to choose from. We had the brussel sprouts, calamari and paella. My husband raved about the paella since he lived in Panama, he said it was excellent. I gave four stars in the service area because our waiter was not attentive at all. He never asked how our meals were after they were delivered to the table. We asked for more dipping sauce for the calamari, he didn't know what it was and was asking us the name of it, well, we didn't know the name of it. We just know that it came with the calamari. 10 minutes later and we still didn't have more dipping sauce. Then a large bowl of sauce for the paella came to the table which we refused but were charged $3 for that on our bill but that's not what we asked for. We finally got the sauce for the calamari when we were boxing everything up and leaving. There was no reason for the poor service since we arrived at 4:45 p.m. and the restaurant was not busy.

We've decided to eat our way through their extensive menu. So far, we have not been disappointed. We've tried the chicken parm, squash ravioli, new york strip, chicken marsala, gnocci, seafood linguini and more. We've loved them all. Their happy hour is great and their dinner specials menu rotates every couple of weeks. We have not tried any gluten-free options, but would not hesitate to try them. They offer in house pasta as well - yum!
