We were driving out to Mizen Head and passed through Ballydehob. We spotted Budd's and decided to stop for a coffee, spur of the moment. I had an Americano and my husband had a latte -- both were rich and delicious. My husband had a delicious scone with whipped cream and jam while I reluctantly tried a "gluten free" chocolate torte/brownie. I said I wasn't into gluten free, but they assured me it was good. It was beyond good! I wish I could go back and have it again! The owner and his son were very friendly, joking and chatting with us. They also saved us a wasted journey as the Station House we were planning to go to would be near closing time when we'd arrive. The cafe is charming and quirky. They also have alcoholic beverages and meals.
