While on the Sunshine Coast, we visited BCC after one of our children was diagnosed with a gluten intolerance.
Owner Anja was friendly, passionate, knowledgeable, and great for a chat. She's a one-person operation, having moved from a corporate environment to a venture that focuses on gluten-free baking without sacrificing quality or taste.
We purchased 3 loaves of assorted bread, as well as several pastries. Everything looked and tasted wonderful, and our daughter was grateful to finally have some bread that didn't require extreme toasting to become palatable!
Although the prices are higher than those found in a generic bakery, BCC is another example of 'you get what you pay for'. Home-made, baked from scratch and sold over the counter. No nasties, no gluten, yet plenty of flavour. For a family such as ours, where gluten is now avoided at all costs, a business such as this is a fantastic find.
