Burger & Company - Spirit Lake, IA

Disappointed. What happened to this place? We used to love it. Tonight we tried the gluten free bun... it was old, dry, and fell apart. Nasty. The tots and cauliflower were cold and soggy. The milkshake was basically thick milk. The jalapeno burger on a regular bun was really good, thankfully. The tables were really sticky, and it felt dirty. Sadly, it isn't the place it used to be.

This is a clean shop in downtown Spirit Lake. It offers a nice burger menu and is known for having competed in Iowa's burger competition, capturing 4th place. Trust me, you need to stop here. Our service was friendly, as the staff was eager to answer all of our questions. The entire restaurant was clean and without any mess. My burger came out without delay and was cooked perfectly. As a note, my sister ordered cheese balls, and we debated sharing. We were told that we would likely need a separate order. Well, as females we did not. It was a lot more food than we ourselves needed. Finally, these folks have a gluten-free bun option. I cannot wait to bring my husband here for that!
