Waitress was very thorough clarifying dietary requirements for gluten free Southern Fried chicken & chips pack. I had asked for chicken salt on my chips but they were not salted and were not as crispy as I would have liked. The chicken however was so delicious, it was offered as a 3 piece pack but to my surprise they gave 4 pieces. Even my hubby who isn't coeliac was impressed with the chicken and said it was better than the Colonel's version 😆

I looked for a place to get gluten free food for dinner a couple of night ago for a few people after a long day having attended a funeral. Burger Brothers came up with excellent reviews, and not being from Ballarat, thought I would give it a try. This definitely is NOT a place you should try. Firstly I am shocked at the reviews saying how good it is as everyone who ate the food had something to say.. I do not know where to begin. The chicken looked like it had been reheated and was 2 days old. VERY DRY! We asked for it to be cut up into 8 pieces which it was not, so we all got pulled chicken on our plates. It was also a very small chicken and not impressed for the price we paid for it. Most chicken shops sell a larger sized chicken. Then came what I believed to be a MEDIUM serving of peas and carrots was only a very small serving not enough for everyone. Very plain, no salt no flavour. The gravy was tasteless as well. This although was a generous serve. We also ordered a coleslaw. This was absolutely terrible. It was so bitter we had to search in the fridge for some mayonnaise and add salt to bring up the flavour. We are still questioning what was in it to make it so bitter. The cucumber and tomato salad was fresh but once again tasteless. The last item was the Medium size sweet potato fries. This was a very small serving of fries, that tasted nice. The portions of the food were terrible and for $75 an embarrassing meal to be sharing with a group after a funeral. Just because it is gluten free does mean it should be taste free. We will not be coming here again when we visit Ballarat.

Great gluten free battered flake! The gf chips are a bit ordinary but I love that it comes in a pack with choice of fish! And love having somewhere in Ballarat to get gluten free takeaway!!
