Simply because there are gluten-free burgers, which neither McDonald's nor Burger King offers.

Very tasty burgers and side dishes - and especially nice for my youngest daughter (who has celiac disease): everything is also gluten-free! This is stated directly on the menu and you just have to specify it as a request when ordering your burger.
