Bōru Asian Eatery

Mixed experiences. Been here three times; I'd say it was a 4 star, a 5 star, and a 2 star. I sat at the bar the second time, and got fantastic service. I don't remember the guys name but he was great at helping me figure out a gluten free option, substituting pork belly on the miso soup. It was delicious, and I was thrilled to have a new dining option nearby. Truely an excellent experience. A couple weeks later I was excited to bring a new friend here... Sadly the service was terrible. Our server told me pretty much everything was gluten free... hmm, sure... After I ordered she came back and told me actually I could only order chicken. I told her what I had ordered last time and said I wanted the same. A quarter of the way through I noticed there was no meat with my dish. When I finally flagged her down she told me pork belly was not gluten free, so she couldn't sub it (pork belly is gluten free, if you don't know, and this was not mention before my food was brought out). She charged me the full price (not cheap, especially for rice noodle Ramen with no meat) and wouldn't offer any subs or compensation. Also not friendly and made no apology. I was polite because I was trying to make a good impression, but that's just horrible service in my book, and so disappointing. I am not sure I want to go back now.
