CACi Wood-Fired Sicilian Grill

We recently moved into the neighborhood here where CaCi is located. It has a great patio, friendly staff, and a great vibe. The first night, I ordered pizza and was pleased when our server seemed sensitive to my request for precautions. I recently purchased a Nima and it returned a :) (no gluten detected). The pizza was fantastic. We just went again and I was hopeful but decided to test again this time. I’m glad I did - Nima came back with “gluten detected”. The server barely apologized and offered to get me something else. Given that the Nima capsules are a bit pricey and I didn’t want to: a) buy another meal, b) wait for another meal when everyone at my table was already finished and ready to go or c) use more of my Nima capsules and spend more $$ to test, I opted to just go home and find something to eat in the fridge. There was hardly an apology and no offer to remove the item from our bill. I could have pushed it but I’m so averse to making a scene I didn’t want to have to do that to get the charge removed. The food is good so I won’t knock them on that. I guess I would say, they’re hit and miss on whether it’s safe or not, so your call on how sensitive you are and how much of a risk taker you are.

Fantastic service, great food quality with menu variations, many gluten - free options, great mixed drinks, and a fun vibe! Quite the anomaly to be in such a beautiful and classy Eagle restaurant, but have everyone (including patrons) be down to earth, congenial, and fun. The kids love this place, as do all the adults. Highly recommend the espresso martini and the short rib bolognese. 👌 And the pistachios fish. Mmmm and the scallops. Actually, maybe you just need to get one of everything to be safe. 😉 Don't forget to start with the bruschetta! You will not be disappointed.
