My husband and I went to Compa last night to try their truffle dishes. There weren't many of these, and less gluten free ones, but the ones we had were very good. I am a bit of a 'truffle tragic' so I am trying as many truffle dishes in restaurants in Canberra as I can this truffle season. We wanted to try a truffle cheese - but they didn't have one of these. I don't think it would be too difficult to do a triple cream truffle brie. Worth thinking about - to add to their truffle offerings.
Bit what was exceptional was the service. We go to quite a few restaurants and I haven't see service like this since I lived in Paris and used to go to Parisian restaurants. Well done guys. Special mention to Matteo who I think was the head honcho - but who very happily took our orders for whatever and regularly checked on how we were going. I had expected that being a Matt Moran venue in Canberra that all that staff would be a bit full of themselves - but quite the opposite. All were responsive, friendly and competent. It was a great night and I could not recommend the restaurant more highly. Well done guys!!
