Watch out, no gluten free food here. The only 2 sort-of-cakes named “gluten frei” were in a shelf together with all other cakes. All cut with the same knife, “cleaned” with a dried napkin. Contamination by gluten is guaranteed 100%, so if you’re celiac or highly intolerant to gluten, avoid here. Unfortunately there are no options in Monschau, which looks like being stuck in the past with no connection to the present world. Please don’t do what we did, asking for gluten free options, they won’t understand you, and you’ll be frustrated. What a pity.

Too bad about the lady in the service who is anything but friendly. Blonde hair and glasses. She is curt, direct and never fails to smile. The apple strudel was tasty, shame about the lack of vanilla sauce! Oh, compliments for the Gluten-free range.
