Café MJ et Cie - Chambly

**Update ** Following Marie Jeanne's response, I decided to give this little café a second chance. The owner who takes the time to answer her customers' questions and who is committed to the satisfaction of her customers definitely has my admiration. I refused the offer of free desserts because that was not the purpose of my intervention. Thank you Marie Jeanne. Martine ————————————————————— Very pretty little boutique café, upon entering it smelled of good coffee so we decided to have an iced coffee and dessert. No complaints about the service from my side. Where I have a problem is with the desserts and the bill, 2 iced coffees, a brownie and a carrot cake $30.00. When it’s good, I have no problem cheering local. The brownie, a chocolate mass so dense that it was practically impossible to take a bite, was very unpleasant in the mouth. For the carrot cake again very dense, not soft and dry. I thought maybe they were gluten-free desserts. I went to see the employees at the counter and explained the situation to them, they told me that it was very surprising because they have been open for several years and they have not had any bad comments. One of the employees tells me that maybe it's because it's cold and suggests that I put it in the microwave, which I refuse, being certain that it wouldn't change for the worse. At the same time another employee asks me if I would like to be reimbursed and suddenly another employee says that they do not have the right. I said nothing and left the cafe, promising myself unfortunately not to set foot there again.

Super cute café in old Chambly right by the water front. They have cute seating inside with games available. It's also baby friendly with a ramp to bring in strollers. 3 high chairs, and a change pad in the bathroom. They have a gorgeous terasse that looks out to the water. They sell local products too which is awesome. In terms of food, they have sandwiches and baked goods, they also habe multiple hot and cold beverages. I am vegan and gluten-free and they have a brownie and chocolate tart as options. The veggie sandwhich is vegetarian, but can be made vegan if you hold the mayonaide and put dijon mustard instead. In terms of drink options, the coffee classics are all available and they also do tazo chai and matcha (optional lavender syrup). Milk options include soy, coconut, almond, oat (i think), macademia, pistachio. Impressive selection of milk. All in all a go-to café!
