A friend and I were looking for a Saturday brunch where we could sit down. We didn't want a greasy spoon, junk food or a boring chain and I wanted to avoid eating bread as it doesn't agree with me. Having wandered around for so long that it had tipped into the lunchtime rush , we decided to give Cafe Veneto a try as there were free tables that were not crammed in like other venues. It was a perfect choice! Despite looking a bit more trendy from outside, there was plenty of choice on the menu, surprisingly the prices were actually cheaper than other places, and the meal size perfect. They offer gluten and vegetarian options. A cosy, eclectic space with good, home cooked and well presented food. We both had omelettes, which had a lot of nice filling. The owner / manager greeted us and even took the time to have a conversation. The waitress was attentive and clearly happy getting on with her job. What's not to like?
