Wow, what a gem! My friend and I had a fantastic meal, while marveling at the man who seems to do everything. While we picked out desserts after our meal, we talked with him about food allergies/intolerances and where he sources ingredients. He mentioned that online reviews say he's not friendly, but I think he's just a quiet and reserved person who wants to leave you alone to enjoy your meal with your friends. The food was amazing -- avocado fries, mushroom toast, salad with grilled avocado, and naan filled with a frittata. And I don't mean "amazing compared to other GF/DF/etc foods" -- it stands up to expensive meals I've had in fancy restaurants: flavorful, creative, with impeccable presentation. My salad had slices of 2 or 3 different types of radish on it, for example. Just the right amount to give variety to every bite. I didn't try the naan, but the baguette in the mushroom toast was as good as gluten full bread. I like that it's a casual vibe -- when I wanted a second bottle of water, he was busy making something, so I just grabbed a bottle from the cooler and told him to add it to our tab.

My husband found this cafe after looking for GF options for me (celiac). It did NOT disappoint. The owner/chef was extremely helpful and kind. We were a party of five and ordered five different dishes and specialty coffee. Everything was made from scratch, including fresh veggies and eggs (from the chef's garden and chickens), and it was absolutely delicious! It is a bit small inside, but worth the stop. Prices are as expected, especially considering they are GF, DF, and vegan. If you are familiar with having to prepare meals like these, it's understandable. We spent a little over $100, but that was for five meals, dessert, coffees, and sodas. We also were able to take a free tomato plant for our garden :) Highly recommend and will be returning!

First thing's first, yes, gluten free is expensive, here and literally everywhere else. I'm not GF, but wife is. We came so she could enjoy a meal without worrying and she sure did. Even I really enjoyed the food, and I dont eat vegan. The garlic cashew sauce is a real standout but everything we had was absolutely delicious. Would absolutely reccomend for celiacs and vegans, really really good food and super cozy atmosphere. We will most certainly be back. EDIT: I'm now seeing reviews that the chef/owner is rude. LOL no he isn't. He's quiet amd trying to run a super high quality restaurant. I talked to him for a while during our visit and he's perfectly friendly. He's just not your typical maitre'de, that's not his job. His food speaks for itself. I'm glad he put his effort into making fantastic food and not into entertaining us. Give the guy a break. He's as local as it gets and I love to see it.
