I have now visited the place 3 times, and each time I have been disappointed with the level of service. The food is really good though, so it's a shame that the staff are so inattentive. Today at lunch we waited for food for 45 minutes, after which we asked when the food would arrive, and it turned out that the order had been forgotten. The staff do not check up on the guests in any way, but are instead busy taking pictures of the coffee they are making or talking to their friends who come to visit. The cafe offers that part of the menu can be made, for example, gluten-free, but many of them did not know that as a gluten allergy/when you have celiac disease, you cannot eat ordinary oatmeal. On a previous visit to the cafe, I ordered a bowl (which they said they could easily make gluten-free), but there was still oatmeal in it when I got it. I therefore asked if I could have it without oatmeal, now that I had ordered gluten-free, but then they wanted to discuss with me whether oatmeal was gluten-free, and they said "so our boss says it is gluten-free", even though it was not. I ended up ordering something else, which they then forgot I had ordered, and I had to remind them twice before they sent the order to the kitchen, which creates an awkward situation when everyone else at the table finishes eating. Their knowledge of allergens is not very reassuring. They also offer free water that you get yourself from a pitcher - but when I once nicely asked if it could be refilled because it was empty, they said "yeah", but remained sitting behind the bar on their phones. Otherwise, delicious food and cozy place, but the staff needs a lift in the service level.

An Odense gem! I adore the atmosphere and immediate calm an beauty inside. The divided rooms and garden area makes it inviting and private, perfect for small groups or solo-visitor like myself. I was greeted by a lovely staff, very acommodating about my dietary needs (coeliac). I felt very welcome and safe. I had the Croque Madame (glutenfree option), cappuccino and a take away glutenfree chocolate cake to enjoy later as I had to leave in a hurry (due to poor planning on my end). Portion size was of good size for me, even some leftover for later. The food tasted great! The coffee was good and the chocolate cake was a treat after supper in my hotelroom. Good value for money in my opinion, and great service. Will definitely return my next time coming through here. Hope others enjoys this as much as I did. Très bon!
