Cafe Gianni

Nice italian restaurant in Mount Dora with great atmosphere. We asked for the special raviolis with pear and shrimp, and we were a bit dissapointed. The boiled shrimp seemed to be thrown in at the last minute, no sauce covering them so no flavor. The portion was small compared to many other italian restaurants, and it was served without any finesse. On the other hand, we ordered Gluten free pasta with the meat sauce, which was excellent. The clams we ordered as appetizer were a small portion and a bit bland. We did not have time for dessert because the food took a bit of a long time and we were almost the last ones to go. Our server was very nice, and I think she was the only one serving upstairs. Nice place, but stick to the basic.

No reservation. We were lucky enough to be seated right away on the outdoor patio. It was wonderful to see all the holiday lights and watch the people go by. The service and food was excellent! Everyone got something different and we all loved our dishes. I got the shrimp penne with cream sauce. My husband got the seafood pasta . The other couple got veal marsella and the gluten free pasta with cobia Highly recommend this restaurant. it was fabulous
