Cafe Lift Haddonfield

They have gluten free substitutes which is a win for me. Food was great, they missed an item on my order (nbd) and completely covered the order which was unexpected and really nice. The wait was long which was to be expected and all the staff was pleasant.

Asked to modify meal choice and remove mushrooms and they didn't listen. I ended up spending the whole mealing picking out the mushrooms. The waitress saw what I was doing and didn't say anything. I wasn't able to get their attention until the end to say what happened be cause they almost never came over to us during the meal. Once I pointed the issue out and showed them the pile of mushrooms they offered to remake it but we literally just requested the check... Asked to make the meal spicer and add peppers. They added the peppers but charged more money. They never said it was additional money. Asked to make another meal gluten free. They charged additional money and did not say it cost more. They added an additional 3+ dollars to the meal total due to requested modifications, which is fine, if they said it would alter the bill, but they never said anything. This is BS on top of not respecting my request to remove mushrooms from one of the dishes. I won't be coming back because they don't communicate anything (that they charge more for certain things), they don't listen to meal modification requests when they say it's no issue, and the service is incredibly slow and frustrating.
