Amazing and imposing old stately home, set in a beautiful forest area, with hill views. Rooms huge, although a little old fashioned; restaurant meals very good including good gluten free options, although the restaurant decor is very plain. Service ok but not excellent - for instance, no-one asked us when we were leaving 'how did you find your stay?' Dinner service a bit patchy too. Good place to stay for rural pursuits holidays, or to stay en- route to Cairnryan- ferry. No electric vehicle chargers, which was both unexpected and disappointing.
