Canoe

The view is worth a lot. But the service was amazing. I am gluten-free and they were very careful about informing me and making substitutions. And the food was excellent.

I was at Canoe tonight for my work Christmas party. I have a lot of food allergies like gluten and dairy. To be honest, I rarely go out to eat as it’s often too stressful. I had never been to Canoe before and honestly wasn’t sure what the experience would be like. If you are gluten and/or dairy free, you probably have experienced restaurants struggling to accommodate and getting super small portions of random things thrown together. We did let them know in advance about my needs and the event planner Jessica was so great to work with. We were able to customize all three courses based on my needs. The portions were big (sorry I forgot to take a picture of my salad) and they brought out gluten free bread just for me. My main had to be made with no sauces and it was still delicious! I literally almost cried when they brought me a huge bowl of fruit for dessert. They honestly made me feel so included and cared about, rather than a bother. The servers were great too! I believe I was interacting with Amanda and she was so kind and warm, which helped put me at ease. She knew exactly who I was as soon as I identified myself and was happy to help. I can tell they took my allergies very seriously in the kitchen as well. I didn’t have any stomach issues from the food and all of my courses were on special dishes there were different from everyone else’s. This was the best dining experience I’ve had in ages and would highly recommend Canoe to all people, especially those with special diets!
