Carbone Dallas

Beautiful restaurant, decent service, interesting way to handle reservations and contacting the restaurant. We ran extremely late due to traffic and had to email the restaurant to let them know. They said they may be able to accommodate us. When we arrived it wasn’t busy in the least so I don’t know if the email responses are cut and pasted but it didn’t seem hospitable. The food was just ok. Not sure we get the hype. A lot of the sauces are very rich and buttery. Then the basic tomato was very bland. The options for a person with dietary restrictions are very limited. Our server didn’t seem knowledgeable about what was suitable either and had to double check. Ordering something basic seemed the safest. I will say they have gluten free pasta and limited - according to the server - dairy free options. They do give complimentary bread, salumi and pickled vegetables along with parm which was a nice touch. Overall I’m not sure we’ll be back unless it’s for a cocktail.

We had a great experience at Carbone Dallas!! We went for my birthday and the staff was excellent and so friendly. Unfortunately, there was a mix up with my friends gluten free pasta and she was given regular pasta. Our server (I think her name was Norma or Nora, my apologies) was so helpful and attentive to fixing the situation and bringing her wonderful manager, Brick over. Brick was the absolute best and made sure that we were all okay and taken care of!! Overall, it was a great experience and we will be back and will always give our thanks to the excellent staff!!
