Carmela's Kingston

Ordered off of the gluten free menu which they said was very extensive for gf, no it was not. I ordered the caprese salad only to have them tell me 15 minutes later they do not have the mozzarella in the restaurant, so I ordered a salad, could take it or leave it, nothing special. I also ordered the chicken parmesan to which I was told was just grilled chicken with cheese on top, so it was a hard no. Ended up with gf pasta with bolognese sauce, took one bite and thought I'd gag. It had a strange off putting taste, went back to eating my salad, was not going to risk getting anything else. Had a lousy experience at Carmela's Restaurant and will not be returning. And for all you celiac/gluten sensitive people, their gf menu is not extensive at all. There are so many other restaurants that handle gluten free well, and know that chicken parm should and is made with gf breadcrumbs. Ugg, bad day!

Was ok. Got the GLUTEN FREE chicken broccoli Alfredo. Was very soupy and Alfredo flavor wasn't great. Pasta it's self was good for gf, I'd recommend that anyways. House Salad was good. No issues with the food allergys feel fine. Service was ok. Staff didn't come around much and seemed to hang out with regulars more then anything. The girl helping the bartender was helpful atleast. My date got the salmon and was over cooked. Maybe give it a second chance.
