Not Mexican in Highlands Ranch
My husband and I decided to try this place because it had gluten free. We came in and saw the gluten-free menu. My husband asked for the gluten free menu and the hostess said “we don’t have one”. 17 minutes after being sat down our waitress came by wanting to take our drink and food order. (Side note) She was obviously training, was super sweet and did her best. Although we did get forgotten about.
The chips are fried in the same frier as everything else. The waitress grabbed the menu my husband pointed at for gluten free. He ordered the boneless wings and tostada. The wings were fried in oil that turned everything dark and tasted bad. His tostada had such a bad flavor that he couldn’t eat it. Mind you, this is a man who will eat pretty much anything. We sent everything back and he tried a basic chicken and cheese only quesadilla. When it came out, it was not from the “fresh made tortilla maker” but greasy chicken with peppers, onion and cheese.
Personally I had the tamales with black beans. Never in my life have I had liquid smoke in black beans. The rice was so dry when I dropped an ice cube it absorbed quickly. The “gluten free” is not. It’s cross contaminated. I’m in bloating pain. If your going to say “gluten free” it needs to be “gluten free” not cross contaminated.
Horrible!!!!! The poor server knew it was bad and the “manager” was rude. We don’t complain we are foodies who just enjoy eating out. Worst experience ever…adding the country music in the background. Tortilla making machine shown pictures, well it is sitting at the front of the restaurant NOT being used.
Skye, go be a server somewhere else. You did a great job and a sweetheart, you deserve better.
