The Castle Mead Hotel came highly rated by a family member, although until this evening we hadn't visited.
We booked in advance, unfortunately, my mam neglected to mention I'm coeliac so although the rest of our party had complimentary breads whilst deciding what to choose from the 'tatty' but clear and extensive menu, I had to wait 25 minutes for the frozen gf roll to defrost.
In fairness, when it came it was delicious! Not like the usual run of the mill solid gf bread. It was served still warm.
Each of us ordered different mains, each one delicious!
Great food, cooked well.
Would thoroughly recommend and will definitely be revisiting - this time I'll make sure my dietary requirements are advised in advance.
