Centraal Ketelhuis

I really wanted to leave a very nice positive review, but I cannot deny that I went home disappointed and not completely satisfied. Last Sunday we came for a nice deluxe high tea with some friends to show them our future wedding location (because next year we can get married in the Ketelhuis!). What really surprised me is that my intolerances and allergies were only checked on the spot, even though we had already emailed months in advance (and called the day before, but unfortunately they turned out to be unavailable). Anyway, that's totally fine if they manage to come up with some options at the last minute. And that certainly turned out to be the case for the savory round: we enjoyed a delicious soup, two sandwiches and a salad! :) But the sweet round, what a disappointment. Two waiters checked for me, but no option was possible, because 'every sweet gluten-free product contained butter or milk, so unfortunately, there is nothing for you'. Fruit was served with it, so I ate a bowl of fruit, but unfortunately I was not able to enjoy any of the scones, chocolates, cookies, brownies and macarons. While it all looked really delicious and I did pay full price (and there is as much as possible with possibly dark chocolate, for example) I am not the most difficult person, so I gratefully ate what I did get with a smile, but I still find it a bit strange that even indicating so far in advance was of no use (also an email response after reservation with: unfortunately nothing is possible for you in terms of sweets, then it is better to order something separately from the menu or we will only charge half the price for you, which was actually very nice then I would have been prepared and I knew that they had at least already looked at it). Otherwise a beautiful location of course, but I hope to eat a little better at our wedding ;)

Just had a delicious lunch with sandwiches and soup. And it was also really delicious for me (gluten-free).
