I’ve been here in Austin for a couple of months and the question is, what’s better? Whole Foods or Central market. The verdict is out, Whole Foods wins. Central market is good, quality produce, good meats, poultry and fish, good selection of variety products, organic, gluten-free and keto. Good alcohol and wine selection, decent selection of ready-made food on the go, but overall Whole Foods quality is just better. Nice to have these guys in the back pocket though, check them out, they’re usually super busy on the weekends.

Central market is one of the best groceries in the United States . Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. Grocery items cater to a more whole food crowd, with substantial choices in gluten free, vegan, and gourmet, while not leaning into the frivolous or junk-food whole food products. Because I have become so spoiled by this grocery, I will have to find an equivalent grocer before I will consider living somewhere else.
