My family and I visited Chart House for my 30th birthday. I was pretty disappointed with the experience for a number of reasons and will not be returning. 1. I am gluten free and informed our server of that. She gave me a gluten free menu which I appreciated. I ordered the todays fresh fish that came with vegetables and mashed potatoes. I was informed that even though it was on the gluten free menu, the vegetables came with orzo pasta in it so I had to change my choice. I asked simple questions about the menu and gluten and the server couldn't answer any of the questions. At the end of my meal, the server kindly brought me a slice of cake for my birthday then was like "oh you probably cant eat this because it has cookies in it but you can eat the ice cream on top" but it wasn't actually ice cream, it was some sort of whipped cream. 2. I ordered the mojito flight and was told that I couldn't get that because the mojito flavors weren't made but I could order one single mojito. I then asked for a glass of rose and was informed that they were out of that. 3. I ended up getting sick from my lackluster food, my guess being that there was gluten in it.

Went to the Chart House for my birthday celebration with my wife. The view was great and that was about it. We started with a cocktails and my wife’s drink should have been a coke mixer but wasn’t. It was 7up or soda water. The waitress explain the color was just low out of the fountainbut she then brought her a coke in a wine carafe to mix and fix her drink herself. Couldn’t decide between which salad starter so the waitress suggested looking at the salad bar. This looked picked over and not fresh and so That raised a concern and I thought I would order a fresh Cesar salad. My wife’s spinach salad was fresh and tasty but over dressed. My Cesar salad was way over dressed and the lettuce was wilted and soft and very flat. Could not eat it. Sent it back. So waited a while and entrees came. My prime rib was cooked a perfect medium rare but it was ice cold along with the mash potatoes that had a hardened crusty top from being cold as well. My wife steak was cooked correctly but was luke warm. Her mash was the same, glazed over from being cold. I sent my prime rib back. Received a new cut. It was warm not hot but medium not medium rare as ordered. I reluctantly accepted it, we were hungry. It was not tender and tough. I should have sent it back and left but we waited long enough and we were hungry and I was trying not to ruin a birthday dinner my wife tried to make special. The server made excuses that we were lucky we didn’t get a drink spilled in our lap like what happened a few tables over by a waiter. She was trying to deflecting from our bad meal and service try to make us feel like we were lucky to have her instead of the other waiter. This was pathetic. So again this was my birthday and management decided to give a desert. For all my trouble. Oh boy how generous. I had the the freshly prepared molten lava cake that took 30 minutes. I have better chocolate cake and ice cream from a road house or out back steak house. My wife have celiac disease and has to be gluten free and her desert was the creme brûlée. Which they put a biscotti in the brûlée. This contaminated the desert. They brought another one but then you start to wonder about how safe the kitchen is or isn’t about the gluten free menu. So here comes the bill. My desert is free. It was my birthday. Thought that might be free anyway but no adjustment to my bill for anything else. Over $150.00 dinner for two with 2 of my courses wilted/over dressed starter and a ice cold main and desert that was just ok after waiting 30 minutes for it. My wife’s main luke warm and her desert contaminated. Full price for everything and the service was slow to top it off. But the view was great. I guess that’s what I paid for because it wasn’t for quality prepared food or quality service. Very disappointing
