Several gluten-free options that taste like normal food. Eating here, I no longer feel as if I’m missing out. Everything I ordered was so good. Also, great service and a clean facility.

Had a rather disappointing experience dining there this evening. For starters, a chain such as Cheddars should offer a gluten sensitive menu in the form of a paper menu, indication on the menu or a QR to scan that is applicable to this location. Maybe 5-10 years ago I wouldn't be surprised but let's face it, there are a lot of people now who either have to eat gluten free or choose too and a popular chain should rise to the occasion as many others have. If you have a gluten sensitivity DO NOT rely on googling gluten free at Cheddars as what's online differs from each location. Our server was new admittedly but fairly attentive and went to ask the kitchen about an entree for me.... when I couldn't have my first choice, she went back to ask about another entree. She initially said the manager could discuss it with us but rather than having the manager come over right away, she proeeded to go ask her each time. Finally the manager, a female came over looking quite bothered, and she basically said "you can't have the chile sauce with the chicken and shrimp and you can't have the rice that it comes with and I can't sub anything for it". I asked why not since it came with rice and she said " well you get 2 other sides" well, yeah, but it comes with rice too! The next entree I couldn't have the rice with but the lemon pepper was ok... so I asked about a third lemon pepper fish and I couldn't have that one because it was a marinade instead of a spice and I also had to forego rice. By this point I just ordered a blackened fish, dropped the rice and mentioned that while in Texas, they had many options for gluten sensitive patrons and she proceeded to tell me that Texas is corporate, she came from there and that they are different. While I was disappointed in the options, I was more disappointed in her flippant attitude and of course she never came back to check on us as you'd expect a customer service focused manager to do. I will never go back to this location and will certainly share my experience with others. I really think that Cheddars should step up and have a gluten sensitive menu online so others don't show up having seen gluten free options on a general website to be disappointed. I also think your team there could use some customer service training..starting with the manager on duty tonight 8/2/23. I wonder if she trained the new girl to say " why don't you just put your menus down on the side of the table when you are ready to order so I'll know to come back". Just disappointing all around as far as options and service go. The entrees I've had in Texas were great... tonight was 3 stars. Btw... I live here....not Texas. I've lived in this city for 29 years. Hope you''ll consider being a bit more gluten sensitive friendly and council this manager to put on her happy face and learn to communicate in a more positive manner. Perhaps had she communicated differently it wouldn't have been such a disapointing experience.
