Came here this evening to celebrate my mom's 93rd birthday. It is unfortunate that they kept the Amalfi in their name. It sullies the Amalfi's name. Keeping Chef in the name should have been a warning to me just like Chef Boyardee. Another bad omen was when an adjacent table send their food back because it didn't taste right. My wife ordered linguine with clam sauce and we specifically asked for gluten free pasta. Our waiter said that would be no problem. The dish brought out did not have any pasta with it. In the bottom of the bowl was a liquid that looked like dirty water, sliced onions and cold. I had to get up and find our waiter to ask about the gluten free linguine and he said that it was his fault for not letting us know that the only gluten free pasta they had was penne. There is no way an order of pasta can be brought out in one minute. My wife did not even touch it because the likelihood is that it was regular penne pasta. I ordered the spicy shrimp fettucine and 4 pieces of shrimp, served cold and with a sweet marinara sauce. No spice to it at all. As for service, lets call it no service. We asked for additional bread to be brought out, none delivered. Waitstaff did no come around to see how dinner was. Our party of six decided to try two desserts, cannoli and tiramisu. Two bites of the tiramisu were tried and the balance was left of the plate and the cannoli was just as bad. Over priced, cold, flavorless food, such a disappointment. You had to be hoping that keeping Amalfi's in the name would bring back the legions of diners that kept coming back over the years. Diners beware, this is not Amalfi's in any way. Save your money and eat elsewhere.
