My boyfriend and I went to chicks last night to celebrate my birthday and had a great time! As a part of their loyalty program they help you celebrate your birthday, which who doesnt love that? Had a great gluten free pizza, they had pumpkin downeast on tap and lots of stateside seltzers. I do wish there were some more gluten free options but understand that's not always easy. We sat at the bar and had a greater bartender/server - Emily! She was friendly and one of the better servers we've had in a while!! Also love the neighborhood bar feel and everyone gathering before the Phillies game. Unfortunately we had prior plans but would've loved to stay and watch the game here.

Chick's of Washington Avenue is a good place to have a burger and fries. But it's not this chick's choice for gluten free pizza. My dining companions had a lamb burger and a beef burger and fries. The food was beautifully served and neither of them had any complaints. I had an order of fries and gluten free pizza. The fries were a generous portion and crisp. The pizza was disappointing. At a time when a fresh, flavorful crust can be made, this crust had the taste and texture of a giant cracker. As a matter of fact it looked like a gluten free pizza crust you could buy at a supermarket. To make matters worse, it was slightly burnt. It cost too much to be so mediocre. Atmosphere was fun and the other dishes looked like they were good.
