Overall the experience was not bad. HOWEVER... I have a gluten allergy and made this VERY clear to our server and even told her when she left the table with our order to make sure the kitchen knows that I have to be gluten free. We had discussed the chips and salsa and that the fryer would be contaminated with gluten so I said I could not have them but someone else at our table ordered them. So I brought my own chips and ate them which is what I normally do. I then asked about the Margarita Chicken which was on the "Gluten Friendly" menu (there was no description on the menu about what was on it). The server said it's served on a bed of rice & beans but never mentioned the chips they put on top. So when the food came (brought by someone other than our server), I asked about the pile of chips and I explained that I cannot have them and she did not offer to take it back and correct it. I decided to just pick them off and hope for the best vs have them do something to my food but then my husband said something to our server just as an "FYI for future reference". We were not rude about it in any way at all. Instead of being courteous, she was very rude and said 'well you ate the chips' and pointed to the other peoples chips at our table. At which point we all corrected her and stated that I brought my own chips. One would think she would have then apologized but nope! She just said 'oh' and walked away. If you are in the food industry, you need to know about and understand food allergies!! You could literally kill someone. Thankfully I have medication I can take that will help with mild gluten exposure, however, if I get a lot of it, I am very sick for 2-3 days! I will NOT be returning any time soon after that type of attitude!! That being said, the actual chicken was very good which is the only reason they are getting 4 stars on the food.
