We chose a combo of small dishes, plus the tofu and eggplant. All were delicious, esp the salt squid. Our waitress was also lovely. One of our party was gluten intolerant and fodmap, and we had no problems. Excellent, thank you.

My dinner guest is a Melbournian and required celiac dietary advice. Our sever was outstanding also being celiac herself providing detailed advice on what could be eaten from the menu and what would be substituted. Now that is service! Thank you to the young woman who took great care of us both during the whole night. Our selection of dishes was superb as you come to know at China doll. I highly recommend China Doll restaurant at Woolloomooloo.

Lined up like cattle at 6pm to get in
(Even our friend who was on crutches was made to line up). Everyone seated at once (chaos!) restaurant packed, staff very short and rushed. We had a coeliac with us, it was poorly managed..a rude maître de who didn’t give a toss about putting her health at risk (he just gave us lectures about how he’s worked in hospo for 20 years… ). 🤷♀️
Food was good but our order was rushed and confused & major mis communication by busy non-engaged staff.
The whole vibe of the night was bad & very un-relaxing. China doll seems to find importance in quantity rather than quality.. the customer experience here was so disappointing, we would not go back. That’s a shame because it’s in such a lovely part of Sydney. You can do better China doll!
