On a rainy Thursday evening, I decided to explore Collingwood and ended up at Chotto Motto, a gem tucked away at the corner of Hotham and Wellington Street. Being a Thursday, they were open later than usual, and I was fortunate to secure a table.
The staff were very accommodating, promptly providing me with menus and water. Noticing I was dining alone, the server explained that many dishes are designed for sharing, which was evident as I looked around the vibrant room filled with groups of friends engaged in animated conversations.
For drinks, I tried their mocktail, the Shiso Tasty 0%, a refreshing blend of house-made Shiso Shrub, Green Tea, Orange, and Soda.
For starters, I indulged in the Hiramasa Kingfish Crudo Sashimi with Ponzu and Dill Sauce. I then moved onto the Miso Mac and Cheese with Gorgonzola and toasted Aonori Panko crumb, a delightful vegetarian option.
To wrap up the meal, I chose the gluten-free Hojicha Crème Brûlée. Already eyeing the menu for my next visit, I can't wait to try the unique ice cream options made by Fluffy Torpedo, known for their science-based, wild flavors.
All in all, Chotto Motto is a must-try if you're in the area, offering a diverse menu, accommodating staff, and a fantastic atmosphere.
