City Works (Mellody Farm - Vernon Hills)

Our server Angelica was fantastic and the food was delicious! They were very allergen friendly and had a great gluten free selection.

Visiting from MA. Great food. Great service. Our server Angelica was wonderful. The gluten free hamburger buns were surprisingly delicious.

We usually go to Lazy Dog but my gf wanted BBQ and we'd had a great meal here a few years ago. We should have left when our waitress was clueless as to whether things were gluten free or not. The menu is mostly marked but things like sauces, sides, and specials were not. The waitress seemed to be clueless but appeared to be noting it. Food came out and they had put toast on my girlfriend's BBQ. The waitress offered to just take the toast off the plate but you really can't do that with celiac disease. It got fixed and the manager came out and offered to comp the meal. Wow. We weren't sure if he meant the whole meal or just my girlfriend's meal but that was an awesome surprise until the bill came out and nothing was comped. So then I had to awkwardly ask our waitress who came back a few minutes later and had only comped an appetizer. So then it becomes that awkward thing of whether to ask the manager or not. I decided to ask and he begrudgingly changed it. That was nice but maybe don't offer if you don't intend to follow through? The worst part was that the food was meh. Sausage link was pretty bad. Wings were decent. Ribs were a 6/10. Shredded chicken was awful and dry. You were limited to 2 BBQ sauces. The patio tables were disgusting even after our waitress wiped it a second time.
