When we arrived, the bartender greeted us kindly and even went next door to get me a decaf coffee, which I greatly appreciated. However, when I later asked our server for a refill, she said she was too busy and that they didn’t have time to go get it as they don't make it in the restaurant. Throughout our visit, we had to repeatedly get up and ask the bartender for drink refills because our server was avoidant and too busy to tend to us, despite only having three tables in her section. Eventually, we even had to walk through the Robins drive-through ourselves just to get a decaf coffee because the restaurant refused to provide one — even though it’s a breakfast place. For medical reasons, we have a strong intolerance to larger amounts of caffeine, so this was not a small issue.
We waited around 30 minutes just to place our order. My grandfather, who has dietary restrictions, brought his own gluten-free bread to be toasted — something he’s done at many restaurants without issue — but the server refused to allow it. He agreed to have the restaurant’s gluten-free option instead and asked for it to be toasted with butter. After waiting another 45 minutes, our meals arrived completely wrong, missing butter, with incorrect sides, cold and gluten free hamburger bun as the toast option for his breakfast meal.
The server was also rude and dismissive toward my grandparents, who are blind and hard of hearing. She placed hot items in front of them without saying anything, leaving them startled and unsure what was there. When I politely mentioned that two plates were cold and that I wasn’t impressed with the service, she simply said, “Okay, I’ll get that fixed.”
A few minutes later, what appeared to be the manager came to our table and said, “Well, I have my best server crying in the back because of you guys.” She also commented that no one should have ever gotten me a decaf coffee and that she “runs two restaurants and knows what she’s doing.” Her tone was defensive, dismissive, and unprofessional.
After that, our food was microwaved and returned still cold. To make things worse, we could clearly hear the staff at the bar talking about us and pointing at our table, which was extremely inappropriate and uncomfortable.
Having worked in hospitality for over ten years, I have never experienced such unprofessional behavior from both a server and a manager. The lack of care, respect, and accountability shown during our visit was completely unacceptable.
I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as no guests should be treated this way. I am beyond disgusted with the behaviour of staff at this establishment and suggest reconsidering who manages this restaurant.
