My friend & I wanted to meet for lunch on the Beach halfway between us (we live 2hrs away from each other). I am Celiac & picked this place because it was the only place in the area that had Gluten Free items marked on their menu. I clearly explained to our server that I am celiac. She showed us what I could order & added that they even had GF buns. We split the peel & eat shrimp (they were good) & a Mahi sandwich with a side salad. When the food arrived the salad had croutons on it. I told the food runner again I'm Celiac and I can not eat bread. She went back and got our server. I then again asked our server is this salad Gluten Free & is this bun Gluten Free. She said oh no that's a mistake I'll take it back. My friend who is not GF said it was OK, she would still have the original salad and just bring me a new one. The server said oh no if it's a mistake we have to throw it out. That's absolutely ridiculous to waste food. The server did bring me a new and salad and sandwich that was GF. I did not get sick from it Thankfully. But if I had eaten the first order without asking I would have been hospitalized. If you are going to say something is Gluten Free you had better be 100% sure and careful to make sure you don't poison your customers. Our server only apologized after we questioned it. Very disappointed & we will jto be back.
