I went with a group of friends for a birthday dinner and overall it was a pleasant experience. We made a reservation for 6 people and they honored it even though we were about 10 minutes late. Our server (I believe her name was Violet) was very sweet. She was helpful in her recommendations since it was our first time in. She wasn’t as attentive throughout the meal checking in, but it was a Saturday night and the restaurant was pretty packed so I understand having to bounce between tables.
I ordered the Lemon C U Later cocktail and it was so good I had two. It’s definitely a safe choice if you like fruity drinks. It has a strong amount of alcohol. I also ordered focaccia for the table and it was a bit underwhelming for us. The outside of the bread was a bit too hard - it seemed like it was overdone and too dry to enjoy. The inside of the bread was soft though. I wouldn’t recommend the olive oil that comes with it. It seems like they cut it with something like vinegar that made it too sour. No one at the table liked it.
For my entree I selected the Ravioli Nero Di Seppia. Taste-wise, it was delicious. I loved the creamy sauce and the crab-stuffed pasta. The thing that would’ve made it better was portion size. There were only about 4 shrimp in the entire dish, and I finished the whole thing in one sitting. This is important to note because I’m someone who has a small stomach and I always leave with a to-go box at restaurants like this. My other friends at the table tried the Casarecce, Fra Diovolo and the sausage pizza. The ones who ordered the Fra Diovolo and pizza had enough to take home. They said the Fra Diovolo was pretty spicy. The Ravioli Nero Di Seppia doesn’t come in a gluten-free option. I personally thought it was overpriced for the amount served, especially because it’s the most expensive pasta on the menu.
Since it was my friend’s birthday, the restaurant provided a free slice of tiramisu. It was so good. I would definitely order it for myself if I return.
The atmosphere was classy and it’s great for a date night as well. If you end up needing to go boxes, the server will take it and box it for you. She was gone for a while which was a little concerning to us, but again it was busy. She did label the boxes for the girls who ordered the same entrees.
