Columbia Restaurant Sand Key

I've been to three of the Columbia locations over the years. And all of them are absolutely excellent. There is no place like them. They set the standard for excellence, flavor, service, and atmosphere. However this location in particular stands above the others, even in my opinion over the original Ybor location, for this one is always near and dear to my heart. Nothing in particular that I can place a finger on, but I've found this location to always be my favorite. I've lost count how many times we've been here, how many major family events or just quick weekend celebrations we've had here over the years. Even after moving way out of the area, and having to drive over an hour and a half each way, past other Columbia locations in fact. The Columbia at Sand Key, and all the beloved staff there have become a part of my family's most cherished, core memories. A special shout out to James C. You're the best! I wanted to enjoy this restaurant more than we did. The view from the porch room was beautiful but they sat us directly in front of an industrial sized fan that bothered us all throughout our meal and made it incredibly hard to eat without getting our hair in our mouths. Our server was nice enough but wasn’t able to answer questions about shared fryers for my fiancée who has a gluten intolerance and despite the meal being stated at gluten free, it came with fried plantains from said shared fryers meaning my fiancée wasn’t able to eat what it touched. He also packaged the plantains up with the leftovers so we couldn’t enjoy those either. The drinks are also extremely overpriced and the fan caused the server to spill a decent portion of it in the tray, table and on my dress.

I’ve been coming here for 15 years. Service is always extraordinary. Do not be overwhelmed if you have food allergies. They now have a food allergy menu and there are a ton of gluten and dairy free options. Eat here! (I prefer the outdoor seating on the harbor.)
