Until a few years ago I was always very satisfied. The price/quality was always excellent, the food was cooked fresh, the kitchen was flexible and was prepared to adapt dishes to make them gluten-free and the staff was alert and friendly. A while ago we were less satisfied with the kitchen, which we suspected had a new chef at the helm. The gluten-free options were drastically reduced, leaving only a handful of options. Great, we adapted to that!
We received an invitation for a review via Zenchef from our last adventure at Como & Co. That review appears not to be visible anywhere, hence a review via Google. It's a shame that management did not respond to our review.
The last visit was with my 2 sisters. Upon arrival we ordered a breakable roll and a gluten-free roll. Nice that there was also gluten-free bread! The gluten-free bread was probably thawed in a microwave and then baked in the oven, which caused the bottom to be wet.
As a main course we all ordered diamond tenderloin, which was stated to be served medium-rare. Good for two of us, the third person said he preferred the meat medium-medium. When we served the diamond tenderloin, it turned out that all three of us were served medium-medium. The kitchen could not handle various preparations? The sauce with the meat was way too salty and tasted prefab.
When asking for the bill, it turned out that the price of the breakable bread had been calculated for the gluten-free bread (half the size of the breakable bread) (fine!), plus a surcharge of € 2.00. There appears to be no price listed on the menu for the (gluten-free) bread. After discussion with the staff, the surcharge for the gluten-free bread was removed from the bill, which was an excellent solution.
When leaving the restaurant, the person with whom we had had the discussion briefly let go of his hosting duties and cynically wished us a pleasant evening.
After our previous poor experience, this was a low point here.
