Comwell Hvide Hus Aalborg

The rooms were good and the location is nice. The reason we are dropping it to 3/5 is because of the breakfast buffet. I have had better breakfasts at a discount hostel in Frankfurt's cheap part of town. There was a very limited selection, unless it is 50 shades of pork. And the service (staff) were unhelpful and just wandered around aimlessly. You had to cut some of the toppings yourself, which meant that many were large and fiddled with the food everyone else was supposed to eat. The drinks were good and there was a good selection. That's why I get 2/5 for the food (service) as it was far above average. I also can't recommend allergy sufferers to eat here as there was a lack of comprehensive allergen signage. A plus is that there was gluten-free bread and vegan cocoa and milk for the coffee. Our rooms were good, the view wasn't super good, I think it helps to be there in the summer, and we found the rooms to be very noisy. There is a lot of sound transmission between the rooms.

Nice place close to Aalborg city center and right next to Aalborg Congress and Cultural Center. The rooms were nice without being flashy, had a bit of an older hotel feel to them, but everything was clean and without flaws. Excellent breakfast buffet with something for every taste and including a gluten-free selection.
